Do your homework and begin your research in Canada. Check on the government websites of the countries you are interested in. Different countries have different laws regarding ex-pat's from other countries. Example: My wife is Philippine and I will be moving there permanently in the near future however I cannot own property there. I can own a building but not the property it sits on. Also, I would suggest not moving to any country right away until you have had a chance to experience the worst weather season in that particular country. Also check on the internet for ex-pat web sites living in your particular country or countries of interest. Those websites can offer you unlimited information. Good luck with your search.
