Your disappointment will continue if you are looking to expand your nightlife activities in Hanoi, because Hanoi’s nightlife is virtually non-existent after midnight.

One of the most surreal events I ever experience in my life is watching Hanoi close up right at midnight. You will see millions of people bustling around Hoan Kiem Lake right up till midnight and then hear a pin drop from the other side of the lake five minutes after midnight. If you need to expand your Hanoi nightlife, try the following:

Ming’s Jazz Bar - A couple blocks from the Tourist center at Hoan Kiem Lake. My wife and I LOVE this place. Ming usually keeps the place open after the midnight hour by having inside parking.

Bia Toi Tiep – Some tourists and expats know this place as “Beer Toilette”. It’s about a block North of the Vietcombank building. They have an excellent choice of beer and a microbrewery on site. There is usually great music on the weekends at night.

Titanic Bar – A bar/nightclub built on a barge moored along the bank of the Red River. It’s about a block from Bach Dang Street if you take the street from Bia Toi Tiep toward the Red River.

My friends tell me that West Lake and the southeast side of the city is starting to develop some nightlife.

Good luck to you and report back if you find anything else.

Don't know of any good night clubs; but A15 and Pacific Bia Garden are good places for a cold brew and some very good food cheap. Cheers C
