I am an American and I will be travelling to Vietnam, I need a visa, where can I get one? And how long does it
Is there a Vietnam embassy in Chicago, Bankok or Washington DC?
Get your visa in Bangkok. It's super easy and fairly cheap. Just find a travel agent on Khao San Road or anywhere, fill out the form and pay them. They'll do all the leg work for you for much cheaper than you taxiing yourself back and forth and waiting in lines. They'll have your passport back to you in a few days. You can pay extra for speeding the process up.
That's how I did it last year. I got my visas for Vietnam, China, and India all at once. It was super easy.

There is one in Washington DC. I got mine after filling out a form. Everything was done via mail, took 2 weeks.
