Both countries use 220V whereas Canada uses 110V. However, some electronics such as laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, etc. have a built-in converter in the AC adapter that allows you to use the equipment on 100-240V. Check your equipment to be sure. If this is the case, you only need a couple of plug adapter. Just get an international kit with plugs adapters that will fit anywhere and they are very cheap. Otherwise, you will need a current converter, which is more costly unless you buy it in VN or Thailand where it is much cheaper. |

Wall sockets in VN are either 2 round pins, or combination round/flat pin sockets. If you are bringing electronics make sure they are 110/220, otherwise bring a stepdown transformer. You can get multi-plug power strips in VN that will take any plug you want to plug into them, and they are inexpensive. Bring a "flat to round pin" adapter if you want to use your laptop in transit - and a 3-prong grounded to 2 prong adapter if it has a grounded plug. Most non-US airport sockets do not accept 3-pin grounded plugs. |

You can either buy the ac converter in Canada or in VN. If you buy in VN, it is cheaper. I refer you buy it in Canada because of quality.
