If you're thinking about bringing your dog, you have no business coming here yourself. You obviously know nothing about Viet Nam and will not be happy here. Sorry but I've seen it many times. |

We brought our cat to Vietnam. A Finnish friend brought the family dog to Vietnam.
You need to check with the airlines to see what you have to do, IF they will carry your dog for you. Some airlines won't take pets.
If you are transiting Japan, the Japanese authorities will take the dog while you are in transit, but release it for the continuing flight.
You need a current vet's certificate that the dog is healthy, and it needs to have (and you need the certificates to prove the dog has) current up-to-date shots.
It will be expensive to bring your dog on the plane - and there is a risk the dog may die in transit - the cargo hold is not the same as garbage / business class seating.

Our cat died of old age, almost 19 years, and I loved Vietnam. So, maybe you can bring a pet and still like the country. |

Keep your dog with you at all times with the leash , any dogs that run free will be scooped away by animal control . Best to keep your dog at home ! You may not find the food supply or medical care for your dog in Vietnam .Hope that help . |

I would make sure I had it locked up or someone may have him for lunch! That happened to a guy my husband knew. He had gone to a market in Viet Nam and saw this cute little dog and wanted to buy it and they convince him to come back for him. He came back to get him but didn't expect that the poor little dog was going to be all dressed out and ready to cook! |
