Well, first of all, they'd look for the cameras to see what movie was being filmed. When they realise it isn't a movie set, they would ask you if you needed some "help".
Most would assume that you're "dien" and ready for the rubber room and they'd probably be right.
In reality, only Americans continue to live in the past and re-fight this war over umpteen beers. The Vietnamese, on the other hand, remember the past but don't live in it. They always look to the future with a sense of excitement and wonder.
Considering that Vietnam had over 2000 years of war, peace and prosperity is something to be treasured.
Yes, I am American and I have lived in Vietnam for 17 years and have NEVER heard one anti-American sentiment or was made to feel uncomfortable in any way from the lowest cyclo driver all the way up to the Prime Minster's office.
Consider that next time you think of a question like that please. |

NO!!!! First of all, your comments are incredibly insensitive. Keep in mind, up until a few years ago, the War Memorial Museum n Vietnam was named the Hall of American Atrocities. Finally, to answer your question, if you went over there ranting about "bouncing bettys" and "Napalm," you would most likely and deservingly get your *** kicked. Please note that many of the casulaties in Vietnam from these weapons (charlie was the name of a weapon) were that of the civilians. Therefore, I think that maybe you might not want to find as much humor in offending a people who had their country destroyed and their economy flushed down the toilet because of the United States. |
