You do need a visa for both of these countries. Vietnam has a pretty fast turnaround time, especially if you collect in person from the Embassy in London. It costs about £38.

For Cambodia, you can apparently get visa on arrival. It costs US$22.

Or you can apply through:

Both are valid for 30 days.

it depends on where you are from and yu plan to be there for how long. call up the embassy in those countries located in your country. they will be able to help you.

You will need to contact the consulate for each country and get their requirements. Visas can take up to 6 weeks for some countries. You may be able to expedite the process by contacting Your local government office (U.S.).

I am not sure how the process works from other countries, but it is probably similar. Do you already have a passport? The passport office may already have some of the forms you need.

yes you do need a visa, got to your travel agent and they will arrange them for you, If you don't have a visa when going to the country, they will make you wait in a long line while to check up on you.

yes you do need one. My wife is from there and we go every year.

I found this site is the best. visasinternational.com

they are inexpensive and usually take 7-10 days to get your visa
have fun!!!!!!!!

Ok... for vietnam you will need to get a 30 day visa in advance from your nearest vietnamese embassy or consulate, this can be done by post or in person, will cost you around 50usd, and will take a about a week to be processed. make sure you ask for a multiple entry visa, if not you will need to buy a new one to regain entry into vietnam after your visit to cambodia. you cannot buy your visa at the airport upon arrival. Cambodia is a whole lot easier... a 30 day visa can be purchased at the border or upon arrival. this will cost 20usd but you will need to have 2 passport photos with you. if you dont have any photos, dont worry, they will just charge you an extra 2usd.

if you cant wait a week, or dont want to post your passport away, if you get to either thailand or cambodia first, most tour operators can arrange your vietnam visa for a small charge in 24-48 hours.
In cambodia you can arrange the vietnam visa yourself at the consulate in about 15 minutes.

Ok, basically this is the norm. I dont know where you are but most of us fly into Babkgkok as a hub. from there you can obtain a visa at the Cambodian embassy good for 30 days. It takes only a couple of days to obtain. I am assuming you are a westerner from a richer country. Americans/Canadians/Brits etc. The visa is $25 US but these days $1000-1200 Thai bhat is the norm also. It varies. See any Lonelyplanet guidebook or see the website. As for the Vietnam visa I got one in 2-3 days two years ago while in Bangkok. There was a fee of $50 or so I dont remember exactly. For the Vietnam visa you have to specify the time frame you are planning to be in the country.
If you go to Vietnam from Bangkok by air, and travel through the country for example, you can use a land border cross into Cambodia (southerm border from Saigon) without a pre-visit to the embassy. See Talesofasia website.
Of course you can visit these embasies in your country but they may not be near or convenient to you, so Bangkok for a few days makes it easy and convenient. Both countries are easily accessible from here.
