First of all, your map is almost 20 years out of date. The USSR ceased to exist in 1991 (Thank you, Ronnie Ray-Gun!)
Viet Nam, like most other places in the world, is a combination of 1st,2nd and 3rd world. Kind of like America has Appalachia (3rd), parts of the deep south/great north-west (2nd) and Beverly Hills (1st).
I certainly don't think the guy I saw yesterday in the chauffered Bentley lives in a grass hut lol. Nor do I think that the home-less of my hometown, Boston, have access to many 1st world amenities.

technically i guess so , i believe you have it right; 1st world- capitalist , second world- commies, 3rd world,- developing countries.. so vn being communist would fall in that category but .. i'd say today its more of a developing capitalistic nation even as it has a communist government..

If you are referring to the economic status of the country, yes it is developing. Some of the details from the photo's is already outdated. Soviet Union does not exist today and Vietnam is embracing the democratic way of governance. China perhaps is somehow considering some of the views because of it opens its doors to the International Community and adopting rules required or imposed by the IC.
