Vietname is safe to visit, but whenever you travel, it is always safe to be cautious. If you have concerns, I recommend that you contact their embassy.

I think so.
Vietnam is not same like many years ago. At the moment there are a lot of nice hotels and many attractive places like Halong Bay and beaches. |

My last visit to Vietnam was last November, and I'm planning to go again two more times before the end of the year.
Ironic as it might seem, Vietnam is one of the safest places for Americans to travel at this time. The Vietnamese want Americans back in a big way, and look forward to more open relations in the near future.
I had absolutely no problems traveling through both the North and South. I would recommend starting your first journey in Vietnam at Saigon, as it is more attuned to the needs of foreigners and expatriates. However, don't stop there because Vietnam has so much to offer.
The Vietnamese people are incredibly friendly, and you will make friends everywhere you go. Watch your wallet though, because they also think you are a walking money bag.
Good luck, and have fun! |

I think it is safe to travel to Vietnam. No trouble with the war but you have to take the necessary precautions for malaria.
I found an interesting story about the prevention you have to take.
You can read it in my source list. |
