Of course, you just smile with teeth obviously,Vietnam don't exaggerate this problem,Vietnam like that smile because it is a friendly gesture. And one little secret, when you come to Vietnam, you should approach more Vietnamese and speaking English with them because Vietnamese speak English very much anh they need national people to pratice.

absolutely ok , you'll find quickly the vietnamese love to joke, and love to laugh out loud. and stop worrying viet nam may be the easiest place in the world to get along with people.. they actually even give bad news with a smile.. [i have my theories but still not exactly sure why they do that..] |

Where on earth do these rumors start?
I've been to dozens of countries and the ONE universal truth is that people smile when they are happy. Maybe something was lost in translation and instead of "smile" they meant "grimace with homicidal rage".
Seriously though, it's quite expected that you smile. Your hosts will feel as though they have been negligent in their duty if you do not have a good time. And by the way, as several of my friends and neighbors will attest, it's quite alright to smile whether you have teeth, no teeth or any combination thereof. |

Of course you can smile! I'm Vietnamese and when you smile, it means that you are comfortable in where you are and also that you are a nice and a professional like person. It makes other people happy that you smile at them.
Vietnam is not a country where smiling is frowned upon. |

I don’t know what Asian country youre talking about but its definitely not Vietnam. Actually Vietnamese smile very regularly and it might be one of things you love about them.
Just smile in appropriate time and appropriate way and don’t laugh too loud and it will be OK. |
