I'm sure you can find ganja or other drugs in Vietnam in the same manner as it's found in other countries. The big danger is being arrested. Contrary to popular belief, Vietnam has very strict drug laws.

An Australian just got popped for smuggling heroin out of Vietnam. He and his counterparts were sent immediately to prison. He could face execution by firing squad thanks to new anti-drug laws in Vietnam.

A distant and estranged cousin of mine is sitting in a Vietnam prison because of his insatiable apatite for pot and cocaine. He probably won't get out for at least another five years.

You need to ask yourself if getting a bullet in your head is worth the risk. How about sitting in a communist prison for five to ten years? My suggestion: pick another country to get high in.

I think you are looking for a nice free stay in Vn prison. Vn is not a good place to be sampling drugs. Stay clean there or visit another country. C

Any kind of drugs is illegal in VietNam. You are not allowed to carry,produce,archive,sell or buy in any form or shape. VietName is very very strict of drugs. The worst sentences would execution fro bring from 1lbs drugs up, and well, I vote for execution this case.

Well, I wouldnt. Im not an anti-drug zealot or anything, and dont mind the odd toke when Im at home, but there are quite a lot of risks to doing it in Vietnam, and plus, when Im in an interesting country, I dont want to spend my time high when I could be doing other things.

Anyway, firstly, if you really want to score, I found that it seemed quite easy to do in the Pham Ngu Lao area of Dist. 1 in HCMC. At night, just about every single taxi driver was offering all different types of drugs (Do NOT touch the amphetimines, they are really dirty and very dangerous), so I guess it would be quite easy to pick some up.

Of course, this puts you at risk in several ways:

1. Chances are, the stuff is going to be pretty weak and not worth the money you pay for it. It'll be a rip off.

2. Extortian scams are quite common in Asia with drugs. Basically, someone sells you some drugs, and then comes back later (or someone interupts the deal) to arrest you unless you pay the "fine" which can be quite expensive. If you dont pay, chances are you wont face the death penalty for just a small amount of pot, BUT you probably WILL spend quite some time in a Vietnamese prison. Not something Id want to do.

3. Since the dealers dont carry the stuff on them, you will have to follow them to a "safe place" to collect it. Of course, this is gives them an easy chance to set a trap and rob you.

I havent bought drugs in Vietnam (or in Asia for that matter), but these are very common scams all over Asia. If you are really looking for a place to score weed that is slightly less risky, the Bhong Khak Lake area of Phnom Penn in Cambodia looked to be about the safest place to do it. You can get pizzas there made with the stuff!

Either way, the main thing is to be really careful. If something goes wrong, it'll be a LOT worse than if it went wrong in your home country & if getting high in these places is a big concern, it might be best not to go because it isnt worth it.
