Is laos gonna be the new west vietnam?
i heard from some guy said that vietnam is going to change laos into west vietnam?
NO, because the Vietnamese and Lao cultures are very different together. Although Vietnam's economy is growing fast, but it's still a poor country. And if Laos is annexed in VN, it may lead to economic problems for both peoples.
Anyway, nowadays VN and Laos are really allies and equal brothers, due to their special relations in struggle for independence from France and the US.

1. even though it is the poorest country in southeast asia, they prefer to have their own country and be called the nation of laos. they have built and established their country to the world. vietnam could never influence them to join and be part of vietnam. no established country wants to lose their identity.
2. just like vietnam, laos is an established member country of ASEAN. if vietnam were to force take laos, it would be a breach of agreement made among member countries. other ASEAN member countries will intervene and vietnam will be outcast by ASEAN. vietnam needs ASEAN more than usa or uk for their economic survival. also ASEAN has china and japan to back them up.
