Yes it can be. Depends on the time of the year you go too. September through December would be the worst time; but I wouldn't let that stop me from going. Just listen to the weather reports after you are there and you will find where they will make land fall. That is if they don't just disapate out in the ocean and never come ashore. You can travel to a different part of the country and miss them altogether. Good luck, cheers.
