Living in Vietnam?

I am interested in living in Vietnam, Can I buy a home and will the government allow me to stay longer than a 60 day visa. My wife is an american vietnamese. Where would I go for answers on these questions the Vietnamese or American Embassy. Will I need to do the groundwork before I plan to go.
Sould I consider keeping my money in the bank in the United States rather in a Vietnamese Bank or is the Vietnamese Banking safe if I want to withdroaw my money.

Yes yes Yes ,you will have no problem,i am English and live by the beach in Nha Trang.Bring your money with you,you get 9% interest for 12 months its very safe, you can buy or rent property and live on a fraction off what you do at home.Just buy a 1 month tourist visa, when you are here any decent travel agent will get it changed for a 6 month visa, then keep re-newing it,allthough you may be easily able to get a residence visa,i am not sure.
Try coming for a holiday to see if you like it.

Neighbour
I heard that under VN new law, You and your wife can buy a home under your names and stay longer. get more information from A.E, it's better to keep your money in the U.S bank

nowhereman
you need to check this out with the vietnamese embassy in your country.
