pls, can anyone tell me what is the longest river in Vietnam and how long is it (if you can pls give me the source too I would appreciate that very much)
Thanx a lot!!
The Mekong is by far the longest river to enter into or cross through Vietnam. The Mekong is the 10th longest river in the world and the 10th largest in volume of water. However, the Mekong is not the longest river IN Vietnam. The length of Mekong shoreline through Vietnam is 210 KM at it’s longest course through Vietnam, which accounts for less than 5% of the Mekong’s entire length.
The Red River has the longest shoreline within Vietnam, which is approximately 470 KM shoreline without counting tributaries. With tributaries and artificial reservoirs, The Red River’s shoreline within Vietnam can be in excess of 730 KM.
The longest river that is predominantly within Vietnam is a river and tributary system that flows through the Nghe An Province. I call it the Vinh River due to flowing past the City of Vinh, however, that is not really it’s name. This river parallels approximately 20 km away from the Southwest border of North Vietnam and Laos and is fed by mountain streams just inside the boarder in Laos. The brunt of the river and tributary shoreline of approximately 335 KM is within Vietnam.

The Red River (also known as Yuan River) is about 1,200 kilometers long. It is in the Northern part of Vietnam.
And there is also Mekong crossing Vietnam in the South. It's length is 4880 kilometres. Starting in Tibetan Plateau it goes through China's Yunnan province, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia as well.
These two rivers are considered to be the two major rivers in Vietnam.
