Need advice on what beaches to go to in Vietnam? |
My husband and I are in our early 50's and have 2 weeks to relax? We are interested in a clean place on a beautiful, swimmable, beach that is very reasonable priced. Have never been to Asia before so know nothing. |

as a first time traveler i'd have to say Nha Trang. because of its convienience in getting there and traveling around from there, because of its wide choice of hotels resturaunts bars and other amenities , nha trang is deffinatly the place to start from. other beaches are equaly as nice if not better/ cleaner. but they either are difficult to get to, [ha tien, vinh, vung tau] or do not have as much to do in the surrounding area.. in fact no place in viet nam has as much to do as nha trang ..not even close... start in nha trang.. if you find you have time head up to hoi an / da nang... know this the best time for swimming in nha trang is the "am" often in the afternoon the tide brings in very cloudy waters.... |

Vung Tao, which is only a couple hours' drive from HCM (you could see it across the bay). it's clean and popular and there's a whole strip of restaurants and places where you could rent intertubes and sit under the cabana.
i went to Ha Tien. that city is really nice. great sites! |

Vung Tau is best. Another is Halong bay, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Sam Son, Cua Tung. I like Vung Tau. very beatiful!!! |

Unless you are hitting 5* hotels, no beach place will be overpriced in Vietnam.
I liked staying in Hoi An. There is a Victoria Resort there on the beach with bungalos, water craft, etc., but there are also many lower priced places. Hoi An has great food, and they are famous for their tailor-made clothing. |

You can ask a travel agent in Vietnam about an island when you get to Nha Trang.
Well, I've never been there before but I'm going there soon. You will live in a 5-star hotel.
First of all, you go to Nha Trang in Vietnam. Then you ride on a ship to an island nearby.

I enjoy the beaches by DaNang. The famous China beach is there. That is where the American's did their R&R during the war between the Vietnamese and the American's.
