My wife and I traveled between Da Lat and Na Trang by bus last year. Trust me on this: Pay the extra money to get there on a cushy tour bus instead of an open bus.
The road to Da Lat is so loopy and windy that someone or several passengers will lose their lunch on the way up or back. A lady sitting next to me on the open bus ride back to Na Trang blew chunks into a little Ziplock bag during most of the trip. Unless you want to smell pho barf for the four hours it takes to get from one place to the other, please consider taking a tour bus instead.
If you are insistent to go native by traveling on xe buyt , then you need to find your way to the central bus station in either city, ask for the bus heading for your destination and wait. Vietnam’s open bus schedules are loosely scheduled, as it’s near impossible to maintain a tight time schedule with the country’s notorious road and traffic conditions. It’s unlikely that you will wait for more than an hour if you get to the bus station in the morning or mid-day.
Have a great trip! |
