December, winter....about 15 degree...nice weather with the lovely food there, you will surely enjoy. I was there last Nov...going to winter, but i heard Dec is better...lot's of good food and shopping. make sure u bargain too! stay in the old quarters. |

i am vietnamese and i have only gone back two times. i can almost promise you, that you will miss mcdonalds and pizza when you go back. i went back during the summer both times and it was steaming. go during the winter or spring. Hint: the prices get jacked up really high during the summer and pack lots of short and t-shirts along with some jeans and a sweater (some citys are cold) |

October through February is the best time overall. In the North, the temperature is usually between 50 - 80 deg. F (so bring some sweaters and jackets , especially if you go in Dec.-Feb.). In the South, it's warmer, of course, 60 - 90 deg. F (except on the highlands where it can be as cool as in the North).
The good thing is that it'll be during the dry season, with very little rain (just a mist in the North). Avoid the summer. It's hot all over the country and very rainy.
