Definitely Yaly. They have 4 different shops, and I am not sure which one specializes in dresses, but I am certain they will tell you once you go into any of their shops.
My experiences in Hoi An with having clothes made is that my satisfaction level is directly proportional to the amount of time I have spent in the tailor shop. So, be prepared to spend a lot of time at the tailor for your wedding dress. I imagine it will take them quite a while to make it if you want it to be done well. I often go to Hoi An for a weekend and they will make simple shirts / pants on the fly but a dress takes longer -- so I imagine a wedding dress might take up to a week.
Yaly is the most expensive tailor in Hoi An but I do think they are the best. You can probably expect to pay anywhere from $50 - 300 for your dress to be made -- cheaper only because you already have the fabric with you.
Good luck! And while you're in Hoi An waiting for your dress, you will have no end of other things to do... they have lovely beaches, excellent food, and very good cooking courses. |

there are more tailors there than any place ive seen in vietnam, i had clothes make over there this last april gone, they did a good job for me. i think there and many places to get the dress made, take your time, then double check everything before you leave. the hotels recomment places to deal with, but i guess they all are on commission, my hotel recommended my tailor but the tailor do not know that, good luck with the wedding, i hope its as smooth as getting the dress made |

There are literally hundres of Tailors in Hoi An. The largest is Yaly, which has 4 outlets, and is noted as the best in town. They are also, probably, the most expensive in town. All tailors in Hoi An pay kick backs to any and all who help send business to their shops. So you are going to have lots of people telling you that this one is the Very Best. etc etc etc. I personally recommend Lan #9 which is located right next to the market on Hoang Dieu St. She has been my personal tailor for a couple of years. I know she is good but don't know if she has experience in Wedding dresses.
I think that you are going to have to check around and talk to someone who is not a Male like myself. You are coming to the right place. You just need to do some more research. |
