Southern region of Vietnam now is in rainy seaon. It rains very quickly, around 1 hour and more. Everage temperature is ~ 32oC from April to October. The difference between the day and night is not important, that means 5oC ~7oC.

I'm original from Dalat so Saigon is always hot to me. I lived there for 5 years before leaving to the states. It has 2 seasons hot and rain. However, the humidity is light so after living there for awhile, you don't feel it anymore. Unlike here in Maryland, in the summer, it's extremely hot and unbearable at time then in the winter, it's freezing cold.

I'm sure things have changed in Saigon after 30years. I've not been back home so I can't really tell. People who came here in the last couple years told me that Saigon is much different and better. Some of the latest stuff that came out from Asia, you can find it there but you can't find it in the states. I think that's good news.

Just like any other countries, things are different in each country. Don't expect and compare Vietnam with the US or any other places. It's a unique place with warm, kind and friendly people.

It is officially Ho Chi Minh City now. Everyone I know still call it Saigon though. :)
Generally, it's hot and humid during the day. Great for going to beaches and water parks.
When I was there, I would generally hide in the comfort of air conditioned taxis and shopping malls during the day, and really go out at night. The weather is really cool and comfortable at night.
