How much for taxi from hanoi airport to city cetre please

I would say between 10-15 USD.

I went to Hanoi in September last year, and we did pay only 10 USD for a trip from the airport to the city and 15 USD on the way back.

Although, all taxis in Hanoi are attached with meters, most drivers prefer not to use them (with foreigners).

When you exit the building, look across to the island between the traffic lanes - there will be a sign in English as well as a line of different taxis backed up to the curb - there may even be the nice lady there that will hand you a card that lists the rate in US$ to the city, ask where you want to go, and she will tell the driver.

When I left in Feb it was $10, but no doubt it is probably $15 now (or possibly more) because of inflation.

If you want a cheap and more interesting ride, exit right from the building and walk down to the bus stop - it used to be 7000 VND for a ride into town - but you would need to get a taxi once you got off the bus to get to wherever you want to go. The bus could be very crowded though - or they may have stopped if you are there later at night - I don't know if that bus runs late or not.

I went back to vietnam for a summer vacation. The price of the taxi ranges. Now the most important thing is that u must have vietnamese money on hand. Now at the right of the driver's seat or in the middle of the car, there is a counter. It tells you how much money you owe and how many km you travelled. There should be a chart that tells you it in the car. Now THE COUNTER is the MOST IMPORTANT thing. We almost got ripped off. The counter said 60,000 VND and the driver told us it is 200,000 VND we were like hello? the counter said 60,000 VND and the driver said that it was a "mistake" and we end up paying the right price which is 60,000 VND.

You should negociate the fix price with the taxi driver, it's about $15-$20 to go to city center.

i usually take a mini van for $1 but last year i missed the bus and took a private taxi..$10us.. i'm guessing its more this year..probably closer to $15..if you have time bargain patiently and you will get the proper going rate..

I do not know how many Kms from Hanoi Airport to the city center but do not worry, I live in Vietnam for 10 years, Taxis here are very cheap and you can trust the taximetre, To give you a exemple, Saigon Airport to the city center is about $4 US and 35kms away
Good luck and good holiday
