Vietnam is very safe in general. But one thing I don't really like is it's crowded with traffic jam in the big cities. So if you travel with kids, that's not gonna be a problem; but with a baby, I'm not sure it's a good idea. |

I have been there and seen tons of European kids with their families. You really wouldn't have any problems, unless you did something really stupid! Like get into a car with a strange man or walk down some alley alone late at night. Where ever your hotels are, arrange pick-up at the airport. Use guided tour companies, I used several in VN and they are very professional.
Before you book hotels or tours explain that you are a woman travelling alone with your baby and they will look out for you I am sure. Most tours can be at your hotel, you really have nothing to worry about;) |

Vietnam is a very peacefull country, you can travel with your babt with freely feeling, no war, no violence, and people are there verry friendly.
Don't worry any thing, vietnamese is verry helpfull. |

You said two things, one you said child and then the question was for a baby.
Traveling with children in Vietnam is very safe and we find it very easy. Now with a baby I'd wait until they are around 2 years old.
