....WOW ! is that all you want to know ? lol..
"..it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.." [not really , the cheney - bush years were far worse].. depends where you were.. in the small blue collar town i came from most guys took it for granted they would be drafted or joined up.. we soldiers were given our due respect[and more] during and after the war.. in other parts of the country g.i.'s were literally spit on.. the country was very divided manly because our young boys were being dragged away from home to fight in a place most of us never even heard of..both sides rationalized ideas and ideals to support there cause but it was all kayos[sp] from the top down.. our government didnt know what to do , which side to appease ,how to fight the war, and ultimately the country was divided.at the same time the war was going on there was a big struggle for civil rights, protest everywhere and for everything .
though the whole country was at odds with itself it was also an exciting time and a fun time.. great music and poetry was being written, everyone not in the army was going to college or out in the streets marching..the "hippie movement " was in full swing, everyone was getting educated [ one way or the other] like at no time before.."...the times they were a change'in.."
