It will not catch up, but the gap will be narrowed.
Most people don't think about the Indochina War anymore. Over 60% of VN's current population was born after the US pulled out. Many American veterans are now involved in business with Vietnam.
It's hard to have a way without people getting killed. So it is not like the US Government didn't know getting involved militarily in SE Asian affairs would result in dead American GIs. And did you ever consider how many Vietnamese, including civilians, that died during that war? |

Ofcourse the tourism in Vietnam will as now, the anual growth of this field is 30%. In 2007, vietnam served 3 millions travelers while Thailand 15 million. But let's hope we will catch up with them after 10-20 years.
Regarding the war, 60 american people killed in Vietnam, but American kill 2 million vietnamese. But now, we should forget the past and head to the future |
