I can understand your desire to see your home country. I just got back from my first trip to Vietnam, and fell in love with it. It is exactly as you say - unique and beautiful.
It is so full of colour - stick of incense, flowers, bright fruit, dragon fruit, monks with saffron robes. It is alive, full of life; there are motorcycles everywhere, and chaos, and women cooking corn on the street. It is full of people with the most beautiful smiles and eyes I have ever seen.
It is full of kind, sweet, gentle people, and wonderful food - mango juice, spring rolls, fish in banana leaves. There are graceful fisherman, amazing rice terraces, beautiful mountains, and bright markets full of flowers and herbs and fruit.
I hope you will be able to go there, soon. I can't wait to go back. I am Canadian, born here, but I felt so at home there. I am looking into volunteering there in an orphanage.
All my best. |

I just went to Vietnam last year and its been my fave holiday ever. I loved the country and the people...everyones really nice. Its easy to get around, and the food is great. Halong Bay is beautiful, I stayed there 2 nights and that wasn't enough. Shopping is great aswell and cheap. Im planning another trip there, can't wait! |

I hated most places in America but loved Vietnam. so get on a plane it's only money. it's very cheap to stay/eat i was paying $10au a night accomodation that was nice enough for us the food was very different but if you don't like it, try some where down the road, Italian Mexican, Indian meals were $3.50us for a main meal.Americans aren't big traveling but just go you'll love it. |
