Vietnamese Visa for Canadian? |
I've booked my trip to Vietnam, and will leave March 19th. I need a visa, but am confused about something: the travel agent said to apply ASAP, but I thought the visa only took a 10 days or so to process (well, a bit longer for me, cause I have to Fed Ex my application, cause I don't live near the embassy).
I'm afraid that if I apply too early my visa won't be valid when I get there...I'm not sure when my visa would "start"....I mean, if I apply now, and I get it in a few weeks, is it good for travel starting when I get it or starting when I get to Vietname??? |

You can do a lot of that online. Just search for the web site of the Vietnam Embassy in Canada. In the form, they will ask your dates of entry and exit, and they'll make sure that your visa covers that period (I've done that as a US traveler, and I assume it's the same way for Canada).
You can ask to get a visa at arrival also. Submit the application before you go, and they'll return an approval form which you print and take with you to Vietnam.
There are many companies that do this for a fee. It reduces the hassle, but you'll have to pay extra for it. |

www.vietnam-immigration.org is the site to get your visa on demand, you apply online with payment for the service a visa approval letter is sent to you which you need to take your flight,then pick up and pay for visa at the airport at you visa on approval desk at the entry airport desk. the website explains all, good trip. ill be there on march 12 again |

Go to http://www.fascinating-travel-destinations.com/travel-visa.html where you can look up all the information you need. Your visa starts when you arrive there. If you saw the queues at any embassy you would understand the travel agents advice. It always pays to get things like that done as early as possible. Especially if you have to Fedex. I won't bore you with details of our experience, but these things can take a lot longer than you may expect. |
