If you are married to India (as an husband or wife) then please reply to this threat. I am moving to Vietnam and will like to make friends with you (so that our life partners can have some common ground to talk about).
I am very open to anyone who would like to be a part of this kind of community. I understand that white male and Vietnamese girl is a common bond we can see but it is not that common to see a Vietnamese girl marring Indian guy or vs.

I’m not Indian, but I believe I can still help you and your wife find Indian friends in Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s melting pot. You will find people of just about every ethnic group living somewhere in HCMC where you may not find them at all anywhere else in Vietnam.
My wife and I met a few guys from India while dining in District 1. They were programmers and spoke Vietnamese as well as English fluently. They had lived there for a little over a year and loved it.
It’s natural for Vietnamese parents wanting their children to marry Vietnamese, and you might be correct that you and your wife will get a few more stares than most. However, that shouldn’t matter if you love her and she loves you.
I’m going to copy this to both of your questions.

Addendum: Ha Noi is not nearly as cosmopolitan as Ho Chi Minh City. However, the sheer number of people and being the second most visited city in Vietnam by foreign tourists suggests that you may find a few who are of Indian decent. |

That is not nice theonethatgotaway. Anyway, I have to agree that it's uncommon to see an Indian man with a Vietnamese woman in Vietnam. But since VN is opening up and there are lots of Vietnamese living abroad, I'm sure there will be more couples like you in the future. Sorry, we are not one of them. I hope everything is well for you and good luck. I'm sure you will love VN since VN is an adorable country. Just be polite and keep an open attitude, then every thing should be fine. |
