Communism's a political theory advocating community ownership of all property, the benefits of which were to be shared by all according to the needs of each individual. This theory was principally the work of Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels. Their analysis reflected the story of class struggle & the direction they believed the society would take. It asserted that industrialization had exacerbated the gap between the capitalist ruling class & the working class (mainly farmers & blue-collar workers), which was seen as increasingly impoverished. And called on the working class to overthrow the capitalists, abolish private property, take over the means of production. The efforts which would eventually leads to a classless society & a gradual diminution of the needs for a state. Their "Communist Manifesto" (1848) further specified transitional stage called Socialism; Communism is a final stage in which not only class division but even the organized state would be transcended.

Sounds confusing still ?
Okay. Let me put it as simply as this:
Say, you eaned $150 working your buttock off ; In the other hand, I barely earned $50 goofing off at work. At the end of the day, yours & my earnings are put together & shared evenly. My 'rightful' share, therefore, according to theory of communism, is $100. (I know it isn't fair, but don't be complaining, dude ! That's how communistic system works !) :) :)
As you can see, I get more for working less while you get less for working more. So, yes, you're correct, communism is anything but good. In a communistic society, people don't get to explore their full potentials, because there's no need for any human driving ambitions. All services & consumers goods are merely mediocre because nobody wants to work hard for, and pratically no one cares since there's no competition. Private enterprise in a capitalistic society, through competition, allows people to have more choices, better services & utmost productivity.
Communism just simply doesn't work because human nature is greedy. We're always striving to persue our limitless needs & wants. We're who we're today, from the cavemen's first hand tools made out of stones to landing on the moon & beyond, thanks to the spirit of free enterprise empowered by the ideology & practicality of capitalism, NOT communism.
We all live but once. No one wants to live poor & desperate. Everyone wants to prosper & live comfortably resulted from the fruits of labor of no one elses but his/her own. Wouldn't you agree with this principle ?
Mary_viet_beauty, I hope it clarifies somewhat the meaning of communism.

communism is a political system first proposed by Carl Marx, were the state owns every thing and serves the common good of all people.

Communism is another step from socialism. Communism can be stated as government control on everything. For instance, the gov. says where you work, how much money you get paid, how many children you will have ect. It can alter frequently and be different from country to country.

MrCool1978
An idealogy where everyone is paid the same and everything thinks the same exact way thus no Religion allowed.

When Elections are held you vote for only person running for Office (John Kerry the Communist would love to have been the only Candidate for President but guess what he wasn't and ha ha, he lost).

... and how do you know its bad ????? everyone in your family sits around the table and eats the same food they all get the same share, yet all do not have the same work ; maybe your father is a doctor and works a private practice in the day and at a hospitoal at night, your mom takes care of all the children and cleans the house. your oldest brother is a little slow witted and does little to help mostly sits around all day and smokes cigarettes, your youngest sister is cripled and cant work much, but studies very hard and writes poetry, .you quit school to help out with a part time job and help out around the house.... but when you sit for dinner you are all treated the same as equeals. why is it that only those who have the education and ability / nack of making money can have the nicests cars, sit 1st class [ stupid class... they pay 5times more to go to the same place] on a plane... why are they treated with more respect? only because as an accedent of birth they have the ability to make more money. they are not neccessarilly more decent or kinder humans or better looking humans they become privlaged only because they know how to make money for themselfs. why dont we let only the kindest persons sit in 1st class? what would MOHAMED do? what would MOSES approve of? what would JESUS say [ give ceasar what is ceasars , yeah i know ] 2 other things; in the us army you cant always get the job you want. you are told what job [ and where you will work] based on your skills and the armys needs... and everyone in the same pay scale gets paid the same.. and virtualy all eat and live the same[of course the is room for advancement , you are promoted at the will of your supeiriors]. and the us army fuctions VERY well. lastly, here in the usa we get to select our leaders by voting on 1 of 2 candidates... both are choosen by thier own parties... yes technicaly annyone can run for office ,... good luck even if you are a member of a party you have little chance unless you are in with the powers that be... i'm just saying thats all.... i'm not realy political ... life is too short. but i think GOD would want us to have a TRUE DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT[ we do not have a democracy in the us .. its a consttutional republic... when was the last time YOU voted on the salary of a public official ?? for 1 example]... and a SOCIALISTIC ECONOMY.... i think that would be GOD's way... not that the strong get everything and the weak get " trickeled down on"..... what do you think ???

Hello!
Communism, as its name denotes is the political system directed to unify people and for the people, all the people!
Most religions are promoting such system, including Islam and Christianity. In practice, Jews have been pushing the systems, for the other states!
Communism as system exists since people formed communities.
As term and respective application started by Carl Marx, a Jew in Germany. After efforts, the main materialization of communism appeared in the Soviet Union.
There is no good and bad political system. The system should be proper for the people, its citizens. Thus, systems should be changing, according to the citizens they serve. It is not real to try to apply the same system to different people, with different education, habits, etc. Can you imagine democracy in countries that the people are not ready, are illiterate, religious?

Teese
Communism is a political ideology where everyone is treated the same cos the society then is classless and stateless, the political system works based on common ownership of the means of production. In other words, its a system of social organization in which property is held in common (owned by the community instead of by individuals). Its not that bad but its the government that makes it bad.
