What are must see places/things to do in Vietnam? |
I'm 22 years old and I'll be in Vietnam for 2 weeks. I'll be with my parents (who speak fluent Vietnamese, but I don't). We're starting in Saigon and we'll be up and down southern and central Vietnam. What are absolutely must see places and things to do in Vietnam? I'd also appreciate some good travel advice or customs I should know about. |

dont spend too much time in sai gon, unless you have "people there". if you have family in viet nam that would easily be the best place to spend most of your time.. if not nha trang is great , beach restaurants, nightlife, close proximity to many day trips, same with hoi an , and hue.. avoid da lat, avoid cu chi tunnels, and if you go to ha noi take a day trip to the perfume pagoda or ha long bay or both
wherever you go make a point of getting up and out on the street by 4:30 -5 am at least once.. viet nam is most alive at that hour it is not to be missed, markets are begining to open , old and young are taking daily exercise, go for a brisk walk , bring your camera.. |

Viet nam owns so many attractive places all over the countries. You can go shopping and taste Vietnamese special food in Saigon and Hanoi or visit historical temples and buildings in the central highlands of Vietnam. I think it's better for you to explore more about Vietnam in this website: |

Sapa!! but it is in the north...
You could go to the floating markets near Saigon... go to the clothing stores in Hoi An... Halong Bay is pretty much a must see if you go to Vietnam in my opinion.
Some advice is always drink bottled water & bring lots of your own toliot paper... |

Hue & The Citadel, also try to visit the children at Minh Tu Orphanage and leave a monetary donation. Take a cruise on the Perfune river. HoiAn is nice for shopping. Ha Noi is interesting for the Colonial Palace and Ho Chi Min's mausoleum. Ha Long Bay is also a must see. Saigon is OK but much wamer than further north, buttoo much noise at rush hour .. endless motor bikes and each one has a horn. |

OH! You're lucky you get to go to Sai Gon!! You'll have great times there...You might've been to a mall in the US before...but try the Diamond Plaza in Saigon!! Each time you visit a place, there'll be plenty of souverniers to choose from, especially Saigon. Look around the nice homes and buildings, too! Saigon has great hotels...If you're going to Nha Trang, try visiting VinPearl, has so many relaxing stuff there! You might wanna take a Vietnam tour, though. |
