It really depends on what time of year you go and if anything is going on during the same time, but...
There is a Novotel Garden Plaza about 1 mile away, they are usually a good budget option. The chain is quite popular in Asia and Europe. It runs about 100.00USD. If you want something lower you will have to go at least 5 miles out...
The Palace Hotel runs about 75.00USD and they are about 5 miles away. The extra 25.00 might be worth it to be close to the airport. |

As you leave the airport, you will come to a rotary. (doesn't look like a rotary when leaving the airport.) Take a left and go about 100 meters. The hotel is on the right and it has a reddish/orange granite facade. My wife and I always stay there. It costs about $15, clean rooms, great AC.
If you pass the Thanh Binh Hotel on the left, you missed the turn.

The Omni Saigon Hotel is a ten minute drive away from the International Airport. Visit http://www.unusedrooms.com/specials/city/Ho%20Chi%20Minh%20City%20(Saigon).html and you will see it featured there.
The rate is about $100 USA a night. Facilities inclue a gym, swimming pool and spa.

i know there are hotels all along the way ,[ "novetel" comes to mind] but i dont know anything about them. therefore i would [and have] spend the over night in the back packer area. "pham ngu lau" and "de tham" streets. you can get a room for $7 and up, clean safe and there is plenty to do right in walking distance.they're not real close, about 30 -40min taxi ride in rush hr, 15-20min early in the morning [5am] or late at night [11pm]. cab will cost $5-$7 [70,000- 100,000 nv dong] depending on how you bargin. cabs are always available when you want to return to the airport. i recommend the oriental [ dong phuong] hotel. |
