Park Hyatt, Caravelle, Sheraton, New World, Rex hotel. I'd suggest you try the buffet at the lobby of Caravelle Hotel. It's really nice and the price is reasonable.
For shopping malls, you can try Parkson, which is a few steps away from Hotel Caravelle. But if you can go further, you should try Parkson . People also like to go for Diamond but I don't really like this one because well it's to crowed.
I suggest you go and stay at NEW WORLD.

Park Hyatt, Caravelle, Sheraton, New World, etc. I'd suggest you try the buffet at the lobby of Caravelle. It's really nice (with seafood, caviar, lobster, shrimp, Vietnamese and European food altogether) and the price is reasonable.
For shopping malls, you can try Parkson, which is a few steps away from Hotel Caravelle. But if you can go further, you should try Parkson in Cho Lon ( aka China Town) of Saigon in district 5. There are a lot more things to buy there than the one in downtown.
People also like to go for Diamond but I don't really like this one. Anyway, you can try.
