You can travel to Vietnam at Chistmas. It's not a public holiday in Vietnam, so all will be open. But this is a big occasion, special atmosphere can be felt in big cities like Hanoi, Saigon, Hoi An, Hue. All the shop and musuem still operate as normally, will lot of youth riding motobike on street to celebrate this time.
Prepare warm clothers in case the weather cold. |

Vietnam over Christmas is fine for travelers. Shops, restuarants and museums are all opened (Museums are closed Mondays)
Generally the "big" holiday here is Tet (Lunar New Year) when shops etc close down for around 3-5 days. Tet 2006/7 is on in mid-Feb 07.
Hanoi over the Christmas period can also be quite cold, so pack a warm jumper! |
