oh there are many GREAT movies.. but many are only in vietnamese... one you can get here in the states w/ english subtitels is "cyclo" its a bit "art-siey"& poetic but visually it brings you right into the heart of sai gon. "vertical ray of the sun" i think you can get in english. "gardien de buffles"[mua len trau"] is absoulutly great.. but only in french and vietnamese & english sub titles [ i hate subtiles i wish i understood vietnamese better.] another great movie[in vietnamese not even sub titles] "nga ba dong loc"[ the 3 cross rd intersction]. a must see is"indochine" after that you get a hole new appreciation for the viet namese people. there have also been dozens of other movies made in viet nam.."the quiet american" for one[michael caine virsion]... enjoi.
