I have tried Bun (rice vermicelli) and Hue Beef Noodle Soup. Their fish cake is very nice but I have forgotten the name. Walk around Hanoi and you will find it almost everywhere. Their sea food is excellent (and cheap).
I stayed along Duong Thanh Street (Nam Hai hotel) and within walking distance, there are quite a lot of shops selling food (and close to the tourist area).
Enjoy your trip if you are planning to visit Hanoi. Lovely place (minus the traffic) |

Try frog and eels they taste better than chicken and the Tendon in Pho. You should eat dried shrimp (the small ones) and the rice. They taste great, much better than that of America its fresh. There is no leave in fridge and cook in microwave. |

If you´re not completely against it - try dogmeat. It´s the most delicious in Hanoi. You have to ask a local to go to a dogmeat restaurant as it is a fairytail that you get dogmeat everywhere, it´s a speciality only served in special places.
Also nice "Fried Pho" - there are places around Truc Bac Lake (close to West Lake) you can get ist - they also have great steamed springrolls - NICE. Never eat the fried ones, they are too greasy, the steamed ones!!!!
And there is one famous place, sorry I forgot the name, close to Hoan Kiem ´Lake, where they serve just one dish in the restaurant - it´s fish and noodles and it´s so delicious and a great experience to go there, Nothing chic, but really authentic and - as they serve only one dish - NO NEED TO SPEAK Vietnamese!!!!

you try "pho bo or pho ga" beef noddle soup or chicken noddle soup. McDonald is American fast foot. Why you want to eat that in VN. |
