My relatives live in Vietnam; but not in HaNoi. They like it there and are living very good.

We visit HaNoi and Vietnam every summer and are in HaNoi this week. It is a beautiful city with many great sites to visit, places to eat and friendly people. I would like to live in HaNoi; but my job is too good where I live; so wont be moving. I think it would be a great place to live.

Good luck to you. Cheers C

Living area is very tiny and expensive in Hanoi. Hanoi is not as crowded as Saigon. People who live in Hanoi are very proud of it, but I prefer living in Saigon.

Depends on each person's opinion, but in general it's a nice place to live.

GOOD:
- Very cultural.
- People are friendly (actually Vietnamese people are friendly).
- Economy is growing fast, so the income is also improving.
- Price of everything is basically cheap, eventhough inflation is high recently.
- Many schools and universities. Vietnamese people are educated in general.

NOT GOOD:
- Traffic jam.
- The weather is not quite nice sometimes.
- Not all people can speak kind of international languages (English for example). Usually young people are good at English, not old people.

As far as poverty-stricken overpopulated crapholes go Hanoi tops the list!

It's a different mentality than the south of course, but I don't see why anyone would want to live there!
