Well, in the cities there are all activities - movies, disco, bar, pub and OF COURSE: karaoke...in the country side, depending on the host of the shop - you can have much fun there as well.
Just follow the usual "city rules"-if you dont feel comfy - GO.
But take care - even prostitution officially doesnt exist - there are "special" karaoke shops as well as girls contacting you in the disco!
But over all-there are no street fights nor any aggression - just between foreigners and tourists! |

Markets open 7days/week, ussually until late evening (arround 10h00PM). Bar/Club ... can be over night. Lots of things you can do, but yes it's very safe to go around, especially in the big cities but be careful when you cross the streets. |

In the city such as Saigon, the night life is pretty exciting, bars/clubs/lounge, whatever you named. Just be caution of shady places, and go with a group of friends. Its probably better if you speak Vietnamese, or have a close friend who does. Have fun! |

Nightlife activities in Vietnam will depend on where you’re at.
If you’re in Ha Noi or a city in Northern Vietnam, your nightlife will end promptly at midnight. It is one of the most surreal experiences of my life watching Ha Noi turn into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight. There will be millions of people clamoring around in bars, night markets, in the streets, etc up till the stroke of midnight. You suddenly can hear a pin drop from across Hoan Kiem Lake five minutes after midnight.
On the other hand, there are parts of Saigon that hasn’t closed in ten years. Saigon compared to Hanoi is like comparing Las Vegas to Sacramento. You can find plenty of nightlife with plenty of things to get you into trouble at the drop of a hat. From what I hear, Nha Trang has great nightlife as well.
As others already mentioned, be careful. Make sure your brain is engaged before you engage “Mr. Happy”. Also make sure you secure your money when you’re out trying to get into trouble. I’m sure waking up on a street in Saigon after being robbed by a very pretty but very greedy prostitute is not something that anyone wants to experience. Other than that… Have a great time! |
