I lived in the north.
Halong Bay is nice, but I found the mountain scenery breathtaking during spring with the bright green rice fields. |

the clubs are in the cities especially nha trang [ all are good ]. and sai gon[ stay in the "back pack area" [ de tham & pham ngu lau streets] and you'll find plenty in walking distance.. and you'll hear about the rest ["appocolyps now" etc]... however the most beautifull part of vn is surely the countryside... get yourself a moto bike driver a take a day trip around nha trang, da lat , and if you can get there "ha thien" provence.
if your traveling from city to city consider a day train for the sightseeing... but the night train saves you a hotel room and you wont loose a day on the road.... its all good relax and enjoi.,... |

i dont know about clubs but try going to vung tau. it's clean, nice, and there's a whole bunch of restaurants by the ocean. you could see saigon across the bay. really scenic drive too. |

In term of sceneries, I would say Northern Vietnam. Try Ha Long Bay. |
