oh, are you coming to HCMC or Hanoi?

ok, will lend you my BICYCLE ( not my motorbike, eh heh) if you come to HCMC. I think it's the best way, cuz u don't need a license to ride a bicycle in the city of course.

actually, the tourists don't have many troubles cuz they often WALK around. And if they want to go to further places, there often has coach or minibus for them, Ă¡nd the schedule is carefully made to avoid traffic jam.

@Isabelle: HAHAHHAH! You got the point Isabelle: WALK is the best way, anyway, you can RIDE THE BUFFALO in the YEAR OF THE OX. hahahhah

@Long: NOOOOOOO! You must be kidding me, CAB is not a choice unless you want to WATCH THE TRAFFIC JAM from inside. hohohoho

Just to remind you about taking off that thingy (towel or something) on your head before you come to VN, or else girls will RUN. lol lol lol

EDIT: lol. Oh yeah, at least, mine looks better, don't you think?

The best transportation deal in Ha Noi is the public bus system. It can be difficult to figure out the routes, but if you go into any reasonable sized bookshop you should be able to get a route map (which may be out of date, but is still useful). The buses are cheap. They are a good way to meet people - people are friendly and it is a good way to meet and chat with folks. The buses can be crowded on certain routes, during rush hour, but a little planning and limit that. Or you can be brave and crowd on - the Vietnamese don't bite! Not even on a crowded bus. I never had problems with pick pockets on the buses, and I rode them a lot, but a bit of prudence is always advised.

Long 9/5
I think taxi would be the best if you want to go a long distance for both cities. In HCM city, you can walk around the center, it's much funnier than going on a vehicle. In Ha Noi, you can take "Xich lo" (sounds similar to the "cyclo" part in the word "encyclopedia") to go along the Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Returning Lake). Here are some good taxi services and their phone numbers :

SAIGON TAXI 823 2323
CHOLON TAXI 836 3636
VINASUN TAXI 827 2727
MAI LINH 829 8888
I suggest MAILINH , the price is cheap. Be careful that other services may be fake, they use their own cars to make some money.
