It's almost up to your interest, there are many destinations you should visit, so due to your time in Vietnam, you should choose the best ones and the sights you are interested in. Go to Hue! I was there over the summer and it was beautiful. Hanoi is also a must!

While in Saigon a couple of years ago we did a tour of the tunnels and a Mekong Delta tour. Well worth it!! The people are amazing. You can get private tours with the same guide for the whole visit for cheap as chips (I think it was Vindo Tours or something like that)

walk up and down the streets between the Ben Tanh Market and the Tax Mart mall. Hundreds of shops to look at, city hall, opera house, Rex Hotel. A couple of blocks away is the U.S. consulate. I went up to Phan Rang and stayed at the Hotel Saigon-Ninh Chu. VERY nice resort and not busy at all. Also went to Tay Ninh near the Cambodian border. Very nice toboggan ride down a mountain...and monkeys.

For what you should do during the time you're in HCMC, try to discover resolved questions in this category, I think you will find many good recommendations: things to do and things to buy. For me, HCMC is a good place to go shopping ^_^ Don't forget to try Vietnamese foods even though it's better to try Vietnamese foods in the north of Vietnam (Hanoi).

Among those areas, higher recommended places are: Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Sapa, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh city.
So that it depends on how long you want to spend for you vacation, you can have a good plan to visit different places. If you like beach, Nha Trang is no.1 and it's not too far from Ho Chi Minh city. Or you can visit Vung Tau near Ho Chi Minh city for a city view of Vung Tau (it also has a beach even though the beach here is not famous).

well you should go shopping for fruits,clothing,and accessories for your house,room,hair and other things.Or you can go to the water parks there. there's accually 2 near there.
