What should I wear on my Vietnamese holiday?

I have been told to wear long sleeves to keep off the mozzies but I also hear that Vietnam is very hot and humid. Is T-shirt, shorts and thongs okay? Do I really need a water-proof jacket in January?

tshirt and shorts are just fine, bring along good sandals and trackshoes if you're active in travelling about. Mozzies as in mosquitoes? just buy yourself an insect repellent. you'll be fine. waterproof jacket? not really.

I actually USED TO LIVE in Vietnam and I visit there and its pretty humid there. Even in the Winter is is extremely humid. You don't need a water proof jacket and I suggest wear normal American summer clothes.

P.S : I LIVE IN AMERICA NOW!!!!!!!!!!

T-shirts, shorts, jeans are the best.
If you're gonna travel to south Vietnam, you only need a light jacket, just in case. I think you can carry a water-proof jacket if you want. It might be rainy in january, but not much.
