Globalisation makes countries comparable. By looking at international statistics and data you can compare the whole world. It also distributes travelers more broadly around the world.
But it is important for Vietnam’s tourism to maintain its identity and not fall for mass tourism in this age of globalization. Mass tourism can dramatically influence the cultural and societal values of a country.
Along with the media, tourism is one of the most potent agents of globalisation and mass tourism can support social evil and inject psychological viruses.
If Vietnam’s tourism authorities set the priorities right I believe Vietnam can sustain its tourism development and become the great travel destination everyone expects it to be.
Vietnam’s central government needs to show tourism leadership by re-orienting, clearly defining and communicating the structure, organisation, tourism product and funding of the National Administration of Tourism.
Vietnam has fantastic tourism growth with an annual average of 9 per cent since 1996 and 15 per cent since 2000.

I don't think it will hurt. I travelled in Vietnam last year and tourism is exploding.

Tourism will explode. It will explode anyway. Vietnam is one of the top places to visit in my opinion. It has everything a traveler could wish for and you can go there on a limited budget. It's great value.
