The weather in Vietnam can be very different. There is no 'best' season for travelling to Vietnam although March and December offer the best chance of good weather for tours covering the whole country. See also the Climate Tables (in a new window).
The North has four seasons. Summers are warm and winters cool. In the mountains, it can even be cold. Rainy season: June to September.
The South has a tropical climate, so it is often hot and humid. Rainy season: May to November (wettest from June to September).
The Centre has a similar climate as the South but is sometimes faced with bad weather due to storms at sea. This may cause inconvenience to travellers. Rainy season: September to December |

If travelling in the north (Hanoi, Halong, Sapa, etc...) and center (Hue, Danang, Hoi An, etc...), best time is from January till September.
If travelling in the South (from Nha Trang down to the Mekong Delta), it is almost year-round good.

Not during the summer time because it's too expensive. And the summer there is EXTREMELY hot and humid.
It's also expensive at New Years, but you get to see more during that time. |

during their festival season tet or during the chirstmas season is the best.
in christmas, there is a famous street where all the houses have caves that light up and stuff. its really pretty |

preferably during daytime. you get to see the sights when there is enough daylight. nightlife in vietnam is not as cool as when you visit the philippines. |
