i travelled from north to south between mid feb & mid april this year and had only a few wet days, mostly in northern half of vietnam, great people, had a great inexpensive holiday there |

It depends on where you want to go. Aug & Sept are normally rainy periods in Ha Noi, but I was talking with a friend in Ha Noi today and she told me it was raining heavily. In fact it was raining so heavily I could clearly hear it (via skype). |

I am sorry, but as far as the dry part you are probably going to be out of luck. We do have some dry days but they are hard to predict. Monsoon here is between the Middle of October to early December. It varies in intensity from one area to another. Remember that Vietnam is as long as California, streching north to south, so it has similar differences in climate on any given day. right now it is beautiful, hot and fairly dry. I am looking forward to a good 4th of July BBQ tonight! |

I haved lived in the tourist resort of Nha Trang 3 years now and what i am about to tell you is for Nha Trang only,the weather in other parts of Vietnam varies quite a lot.,the weather is pretty predictable here.it is never cold,maybe a little cooler in the rainy season which is mid Oct to mid Jan.We also get some rain in july,but even then it is only in the late afternoon,it very rarely rains here in the morning.Many tourists seem to enjoy a trip to the hospital with 3rd degree burns,well the best time for that is March April. |
