If it's sold anywhere in Vietnam, it will likely be found at Au Dong Market in Saigon. Au Dong Market is a bizarre style shopping center like Ben Thanh Market, but about five times bigger (no kidding). Au Dong is so big that it makes Ben Thanh Market look like a convenience store. I've seen in Au Dong Market everything that I could ever think about buying in Vietnam - including old U.S. military items. Ask a native Viet where it's at and to go there with you, because you will get screwed on the price if you don't.

I have seen old ammo boxes, the occasional "water buffalo". But I have not seen any organized buying and selling of military junk - aside from the UXO removal activities that are still going strong in some areas. |
