Hello there
How funny, I'll be there on the 2nd of April as well. I can recommend you some places that I think its really facinating.
Of course, everyone is going to say Ho Chi Minh City, but the question is where in HCMC.
Of course you want to be in District 1, its the main area in HCMC. Here you can do a lot of of shopping, especiall off of Le Loi St, Dong Khoi St, and Nguyen Hue St. Don't worry, they all connect with each other. Here you will find a lot of restaurants, from fusion to traditional Vietnamese Food. I recommend you go to a restaurant call Quan An Ngon. A very popular place where you wiill see a lot tourist eatting.
At night time, I suggest you go to Pham Ngu Lao St, also located in District 1. You will find a lot of bars here. Have a Tiger beer, and people watch. In the day time, you can also go to this area to book a lot of tours. All tours are very cheap. You can go to Vung Tau, a Beach area for only 10USD. or you can go vist the Cu Chi Tunnel for only 4USD.
Good luck!
Have fun! |

Take a Mekong tour to Ben Tre and you can see how the rural farmers live. There are many tours offering home stays where you stay over night with a Vietnamese family. You will get to tour orchards, shrimp and fish farms, sample honey right from the hive and take boat rides through the maze of canals that define this part of the country. If you make it to Ben Tre, ask for me, Anh My Rick, in the market place outside the ferry dock. Everyone knows me and you can stop at our house for a cold beverage and talk to my wife about the best things to do and see. She has lived her whole life here. |

It depends on the airline company which you will fly, then you can start from Hanoi or Saigon. It is better if you can go to hanoi first. I suppoose that you have about more than 10 days for the trip? So try to go
to Hanoi (don't forget the tour in cyclo-pousse and the show "Marionnettes sur l'eau"),
to Halong (if possible night on board),
to Hue (cruise on Parfums River, Kings Tomb and Citadel),
to Hoi An (a typique village with the Ancient Houses, Pagodes),
to Saigon (Downtown and the China Town - by cyclo-pousse again),
to Cantho (famous floatting market on Mekong band)... |

You can not be from FRENCH. The French are the people of France and speak French. France is a country. If you're French, you should know better. |

i suggest you start form the north and then proceed to south.
go to hanoi first. explore old quarters and visit all tourist attractions in the city. then spend 2 days 1 nite in halong bay on a junk. then go to sapa for 2 days 2 nites to experience the hill tribes - do the home stay there. come back to hanoi and do the hua lu and perfume pagoda tours (1 day each)
then go to hue and spend 2 days there.
after that go to danang - popular beach holiday in vietnam. nice place with lots of locals to minggle with and relaxing by the beach.
then proceed to hcmc. explore the city and visit all tourist attractions there. after then do the 1 day tour of chu ci tunnel, war museum and temple. spend 3 days 2 nites (home stay) of mekong delta - well worth the experience. after that spend 2 days in muine for a relxing time by the beach. |
