There's plenty of great restaurants, one you might want to try is called Quan An Ngon, what the owner did was to find the best street food in the city and moved the various vendors into an old French Villa, you can order food from 20 or so different stalls that border the restaurant from one waiter, great way to sample Vietnamese food, lots of tourists and locals there, a real fun place to eat. For bars, Saigon, Saigon a half open-air bar on top of the Caravelle Hotel is nice with good music and a great view, Apocolypse Now is a (in)famous disco/nightclub, and my favorite place is a bar called the Seventeen Saloon along the river next to the Renaissance Hotel, great band there. There are tons of other restaurants, bars and clubs mostly in District 1, there's a good nightlife scene in HCMC, you won't have to look far, have fun. |
