I'm Vietnamese and sorry man, I don't like war movies basically, even though where it happened. I prefer everybody in this world living in peace and I can tell you Vietnamese people mind is that they want a peaceful life and everybody take care of each other. The past is over and we had no choice to fight the U.S. at that time.

I see these movies all the time...especially around Vietnam National Day and May Day. As you can tell, I live IN Vietnam.

Yes, Vietnam DID win the war and it doesn't matter if it was only a win through politics or if the US won every battle. The end result is the bottom line and HOW you win doesn't really matter.

Having said that, the Vietnamese have a MUCH healthier attitude towards that period of time. They prefer to look FORWARDS. They remember the past but don't live in it.

Rugby obviously still has hard feelings about it. Sorry man, but you're just poisoning yourself with that hate. Let it go.

My final comment - in the 16 years that I have lived in Vietnam (and I AM one of the longest stay Americans here) NOBODY has ever made me feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. NOBODY has ever expressed any anti-American sentiment to me. Not from the Prime Minister all the way down to a cyclo driver.

They have ALL treated me as an honored guest, and maybe THAT is why I am still here 16 years later.

Pity my own countrymen cannot claim the same.

yes, but having that many ppl die fiction or not isn't 2 nice, if i were u id make 1 company totally die out and the stragglers from the other 2 regroup and hold it out, one more thing the U.S. never lost a single major battle over there so plan carefully.

But the Vietnamese did win. Any depiction where the US won would be incomplete. This explains why US war movies based on this era of US involvement in Vietnam are so bleak; victory is never claimed.

Personally, I'd watch any war film where America won. Hasn't happened yet.

why. pretty bad language. I would totally not watch a movie like that. it is totally destroying america's name of brave soldiers. but i cant stop you are anything. its your choice

Let me tell you something you dumbass. American's DO NOT want to watch a movie where their fellow American's get ******' killed....I know it is what happened but NO ONE except for your *** wants to see that ****. BTW...Most American's do not know that the United States of America BEAT the North Vietnamese in combat. America lost POLITICALLY!!!

......dumbass
