Tourism Queensland claims to be the first state tourism body to have developed an iPhone application that allows travellers to access detailed maps linked with a comprehensive range of tourism product information.
From now on, anyone with a smartphone will be able to instantly access Queensland maps overlaid with product information including accommodation, transport, attractions, related destination and travel news and holiday deals.
"This application will connect millions of iPhone users with Queensland and help visitors plan their holidays using online maps and weblinks," state Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor said.
He said travellers had begun to use smartphones for navigation, and TQ's iPhone application was ideally placed to take advantage of the trend.
